TELECOM FOR VETS
EMPOWERING VETERANS. BUILDING CAREERS.
Our Mission.
Telecom for Vets, Inc. was founded with one mission in mind: to support veterans as they transition from military service to meaningful careers in the private sector. We do this by providing specialized telecom and IT sales training tailored to the telecommunications industry — one of the fastest-growing and most impactful sectors in today’s economy.
Backed by industry leaders Altaworx and AMOP, our nonprofit connects veterans with the knowledge, tools, and mentorship they need to succeed. We believe in bridging the gap between service and success, helping those who’ve worn the uniform thrive in civilian careers that offer stability, growth, and purpose.
Whether it’s learning the art of consultative sales, understanding telecom infrastructure, or gaining real-world customer engagement experience, our programs are designed to meet veterans where they are — and take them where they want to go.

Our Vision.

The vision for Telecom for Vets began with a powerful moment of clarity. After attending the Rooftop Leadership Conference led by retired Green Beret Scott Mann, our founder Rickie Richey felt a renewed sense of purpose. Scott’s mission to help veterans tell their stories, reconnect with their communities, and find purpose after service deeply resonated with Rickie.
Rickie returned home determined to do more than just reflect; he wanted to act. As Visionary and CEO of Altaworx and AMOP, he envisioned a program that would train and empower veterans to thrive in civilian careers through hands-on, real-world opportunities in telecom sales. From that vision, Telecom for Vets was born. We’re proud to continue that mission every day.
Our Leadership.
